Browse Internet Without A Browser – Internet IMified

Imagine writing blog posts using you GTalk client. Imagine sending and receiving messages, links, and events to and from your friends on Pownce using your GTalk again. You can actually use GTalk to update your blogger blog, use GTalk to use Pownce, Ping, traceroute, alexa, whois, and enum for any website using GTalk, store your notes using GTalk, post bookmarks to your Delicious account using GTalk and the list is endless and growing. Fasten your seat belts and get ready to experience a tool of the lifetime where you wont even have to open your Internet browser and all your tasks will be done by typing just few commands which you yourself create. It wont get better.

This post will list all tasks which (only few are listed above) this awesome tool can perform straight from your “IM Client”. And you don’t even have to download the tool. It is time to chat and blog all from your GTalk. So do read on.

How to start?

Just add the respective buddy to your buddy list and then be part of the action.

  • AIM: IMified
  • MSN: imified@imified.com
  • Gtalk/Jabber: imified@imified.com
  • Yahoo: IMified (offline)

Follow the instructions provided to add new services, create shortcuts, and edit your account settings. Or if you do not get to see anything then just type ‘m’ (without quotes) into the IM window of your IM client. You will see a menu with few default shortcuts. Start exploring the first three shortcuts.

To log in to your account type 4 as given in the menu and you will get a link to your account. Once you are logged in you will see a huge list of jobs which IMified can perform for you from your IM Client window without using your browser.

Here goes the list of tasks which IMified can perform from your IM window:

  • Pownce: Send and receive messages, links, and events to and from your friends on Pownce
  • Blogger: Post Entries to your Blogger blog. This widget replaces the old blogger widget and works with the new blogger using Google accounts.
  • Toodledo: Toodledo is a web-based task manager for keeping track of your to-do list.
  • NetLookUp: Provides a collection of networking tools. Ping, traceroute, alexa, whois, and enum. More info here.
  • BudgetBot: An IMified version of the “BudgetBot”. Makes it easy to track your personal finances on the go.
  • Braingle: Displays the daily brain teaser, quiz and Mentalrobics articles from Braingle.com
  • Tumblr: Post to your Tumblr blog
  • Delicious: Post bookmarks to your Delicious account
  • Twitter + Jaiku: Why choose between Twitter and jaiku? Use this widget to post updates to both services at the same time
  • urlTea: Makes short url’s.
  • LiveJournal: Post entries to your LiveJournal blog.
  • Stikkit: Quickly add Stikkits to your Stikkit account.
  • Typepad: Post entries to your TypePad blog.
  • 30 Boxes: Post and view entries in your 30 Boxes calendar.
  • BackPack: Provides access to your 37 Signals Backpack account.
  • BaseCamp: Provides access to your 37 Signals Basecamp account.
  • Google Calendar: Interact with your Google Calendar. Post and view calendar entries. This widget is still in development with some new features coming soon.
  • Notes: Post notes to your own notepad over IM.
  • Reminders: Create and receive IM reminders.
  • ToDos: Keep and manage a ToDo list in your IM client.
  • Movable Type: Post entries to your MovableType blog.
  • Remember the Milk: Interact with your Remember the Milk account.
  • WordPress: Post entries to your WordPress blog.

And if you use any of those utilities listed above very frequently then start using IMified as this saves time. A lot of time.
