Run Multiple Instances Of GTalk Simultaneously

Do you use more than one gmail accounts (one for friends and one for boss and one for girlfriend)? If you don’t than take my suggestion and do use a different gmail id atleast for your girlfriend because who knows when she asks you the password of your account. Girls have a disease of inventing ways to bug your heads (pun intended girls)

Okay! Now when you have two gmail accounts you would also wish to sign into GTalk with both accounts simultaneously for various reasons ;) You know I have the way for you to sign in into more than one GTalk accounts at a time and the hack will take just a minute to implement!

  • Right click on GTalk shortcut (the one in your desktop or start menu) and select properties
  • In ‘Target’ field add ‘/nomutex’ (without quotes) at the end of whatever is entered
  • Click apply
  • And you think you need to do more? No the job is done!

Now whenever you click on the GTalk shortcut you will find a fresh instance of GTalk opening up (may be for a fresh GFriend everytime :) )

I do not know what happened at your side.

I did send you a mail at the moment when you commented (of which I am still waiting the response) writing some extra details which I guess were not there in the article and not needed too…

type the complete text of your target field here..?

    Rishil,

I am sure you made some mistake. When I wrote this article I did try this step and it worked for me. Do check if you have left any hidden spaces with /nomutex ..

    reply back if problem persists..
