Social networking is allowing the "introverts" to open up. And I see nothing wrong in that. As in the case you indicate, keeping aside the fact that it destroyed the real life (who knows if his real wife wasn't the ideal match for him - "Mistakes Happen") now atleast that man will interact with that virtual wife very easily when they meet. It actually helps him open up. And it was the "scolded" social networking phenomenon which did the job. But hey let me put one more point here: Many times stories are made up to help new businesses grow ;) That is the point! Social networking is allowing the “introverts” to open up. I actually read a article in the Wall street Journal about a guy who fell in love with his Second Life wife more so than his real wife....as you can imagine, it caused some problems in the "real " household.
