Photo Collector - Create An Easy-To-Access Database Of Your Images
Although it is easy to organize your images manually in separate folders still for the lazy lot using softwares made primarily for this purpose is always a better option. With the prices of digital camera falling day by day the number of photos collected by one single person is increasing exponentially. Somehow IF the growth isn’t checked then the result is thousands of images and searching for the required image becomes a daunting task.
Photo Collector might not solve every need of yours but it is fun organizing your photos with the tiny software. You will have to add the photos to create a database. The application will link to them and create a list of photos. You can categorize the photos, add star ratings to them, add notes and keywords etc. These parameters could later on be used to search for specific photos. This makes the searching a real smooth job.
You can even upload images from the application to the FTP server. This could be ideal feature for those who constantly share images on the Internet.
The application even lets you edit the images to an extent. The image editing features are:
- Rotate 90 degrees left/right (lossless)
- Flip horizontal/vertical (lossless)
- Red-eye removal
- Cropping
- Rotate (correct camera tilt)
- Grayscale color images
- Contrast and brightness adjustment
- Red, Green, and Blue color adjustment
- Support for advanced editing by external editor program
Overall a nice piece of software with some tidy features. But it has one problem. It isn’t free! And with so many counterparts available (like Google’s picasa) I guess many won’t prefer using it.
