Small Tip So That Your Gmail Account Isn’t Hacked

Well, this tip actually helps in cases if somehow a hacker is able to get to the settings of your gmail account. So I would request you to regularly check your settings so that you are content that no one else is busy using your mailbox along with you.

The above image shows the link which takes you to the settings page of your gmail account. Then as shown in image below click on “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” and choose the Disable Forwarding radio button in case it isn’t chosen.

There might be cases when you are using the forwarding feature from before as per your convenience but I would request you to keep a check if the mails are being forwarded to the account to which you want it to be forwarded to. Who knows if someone is forwarding your mails to some other mail box of his!

Well, I agree with you but the email to which the forwarding is being done is shown. So it would be pretty obvious if someone else is forwarding coz you would know it already. A good hacker would rather use the POP/IMAP service to get mails without the knowledge of the account holder.

I agree but I know a case where a very famous blogger lost his domain just because of this.

Generally people do not seem to take care of this feature and that is what the hackers make use of…
