All good services come at a price and so does the online backup service of Carbonite. You will have to pay $54.95 for a year of subscription. I guess that isn’t much when it come to saving GBs of your local data online?

Lastly, if you cannot afford such online backup services then you must optimize your hard disk for better performance and for longer life.

    Carbonite sounds great but it lacks some important features for me, since I mostly backup external HDD, network drives and USB drives from both my Pc and Mac. Most providers don’t have these features but this wasn’t a problem for SafeCopy (www.safecopybackup.com). It allows me to do the above features plus I can share the same account for both my Mac and Pc. I’m very happy with it and it’s worth checking out.

    might be, but they limit 150 GB for $50. More data more payments..

    Actually they have 250GB for $75. Sounds fair to me.
