BlackBerry Cheat Code To Know The Real Signal Strength

Ever wondered what is behind the bars on your blackberry phones that represent the current signal strength? Ofcourse, the number of bars is directly proportional to the strength of signal but how about checking the same in numbers? You won’t have to perform any mathematical calculations so stop worrying about the same!

Press ALT key on your keypad and type NMLL in same sequence while the ALT key is pressed. Voila! The bar graph is replaced by numbers that indicate your strength in dBm. Below are the conversions of those numbers to your favorite looking bars.

  • -79 dBm & above –> 5 bars
  • -80 dBm to – 84 dBm –> 4 bars
  • -85 dBm to -89 dBm –> 3 bars
  • -90 dBm to -99 dBm –> 2 bars
  • -100 dBm & below –> 1 bar

You can return back to your bar graph by performing the same process once again.

Tip – Try to cover your BlackBerry phone with your hands and check the signal strength. If it goes down then be rest assured that your phone is suffering from antenna problem.
