10 Days Without Laptop Can Paralyze You
Okay!, I am frustrated. Angry. Fed-up! My laptop’s motherboard crashed some 10 days back and the support guys told me that it will take 15 days before they arrange for a new motherboard. Luckily, I was covered under warranty otherwise I might have been “forced” to shell out over $500. Anyways, every incident teaches you something and so did the nuked motherboard did. I guess the Internet addicts out there will agree with me.
What did I learn?
- I wasn’t using my laptop to the best of my capability when it was working. Since last 10 days I have been using my friend’s laptop (which I get for an hour or so) and in last 10 days I have earned more from my freelance writing when compared to other days. It is pretty simple. I don’t kill my time online. I read and I write. It surely has made me a lot more productive and I am going to implement this when I get my laptop back. Concentrate my energy at one bloody point!
- Another important lesson was that you must have alternatives ready if you are an online freelancer. A spare laptop (which will cost me around $500) or even an iPad might have done wonders for me in these 10 days. Hard luck I guess but I will be working on this thought in days to come.
I agree that the elevation in standards of broadband services have helped us better utilize our time but they surely have forced us to be dependent on them. Still, loving this phase of my life.
P.S. This post was written from my friends laptop and lately I have been comparing some national and international broadband services like Airtel and O2 respectively. It is one business where you really can earn lot of profits man!
Just a thought …
