You might never read this write-up just like some of your articles for the future PM (who is being portrayed as eligible to be one because he has Gandhi in his name) aren’t read by him. I want to write this because I love to!

Look, I have no intentions to talk negative about you. I started reading Revolution 2020 at 9:30 PM (on its launch day itself) and finished it at 5:15 AM. I wouldn’t have stayed up all night if I wasn’t your fan. Moreover, I did this because you write well – you really do! Also, I have no intentions whatsoever to talk negative about Shahrukh Khan. Ask my friends about my blind madness for SRK. I can’t help it right now. Chetan, you are repeating!

This was your 5th. You are supposed to elevate your standards. People expect more than just another kid going after a girl and becoming a hero thing from a man who composed Five Point Someone. I mean, except that odd section of your climax (which was quiet interestingly thought) I was able to guess everything. I knew all the way where the story was heading.

I have read every novel of yours in one go, on its first night of launch. You are a writer who inspires the average India Joe to think big. You are living the freelancer’s dream and we love you for that. You are the Shahrukh Khan of your industry. I am not comparing. It is just a scale that I am using. You have the charm that touches the Indian youth. You connect to them. But, don’t you think that the thinking levels of Indian youth is touching horizons? Don’t you think it is time to write stuff that is more complex? A story that will not look like another about-to-be-made Bollywood mess up?

You had your DDLJ (Five Point Someone). Then the not-so-happening Pardes (One Night @ the Call Center) of your life happened. We saw the K2H2 (The 3 Mistakes of My Life) that went good. Then came the Chak De India (2 States) of your career. Revolution 2020 was probably the K3G that will be loved by all because they love you. Isn’t it time to launch the likes of Taare Zameen Par, Dhobi Ghat or something as huge as Lagaan? Even SRK did his Swades which is one his few movies where his performance was above excellent. When are you taking that risk? When are you joining that list of thought provoking writers? Your fans are growing up but you seem to be stuck there only?

I love your articles on TOI. They are brilliant. I have been reading them since ever! I was expecting a book of those standards but Revolution 2020 was a #repeat that I read just to follow my tradition.

I don’t doubt your wittiness. I love the way you explain a confused girls mind. I love the way you portray the teenagers of today. The humour is at times brilliant. There were moments when I was laughing out loud and my roomies came running because it was 3 AM. It was amazing. But, I have a Pyaar Ka Punchnama for that buddy!

Your 6th book, whenever it is launched, will be bought on the launch day itself. It will be read on its first night itself. And, if you don’t come with a nuclear bomb then I promise – I won’t follow the tradition for your 7th.

P.S. The way you used body shop in your tweet was amazing. I loved it! I would have told you this in Inorbit but I dropped my plans of being part of attending the launch because you were bringing in Sonam Kapoor. Again, I got nothing against Sonam but why would Chetan Bhagat want the “lovely” Sonam ( or Vidya Balan) to launch his books? Isn’t Chetan Bhagat the self-made youth icon whose words can cause a stir of its own kind?Am I expecting too much from you?The Bhagat we see in news papers and TV interviews is the real you? Right?

ePub? Don’t tell me that you aren’t aware of ePub! To be frank even I wasn’t till some time back ePub stands for electronic publication and is written in many ways like ePub, epub, EPub, and even EPUB! It is an open source format for eBooks that is acceptable by most of the eBook readers like that of BeBook, Sony Reader, IREX Reader, and iPhone etc.

EPub is actually a compressed file that contains XHTML files (which represents the structure and text of the document), CSS files (which provides formating and layout), and XML files (which is used to create the ePub metadata, table of contents, and the document manifest). As per usage this compressed file is unzipped in the required section so that you can use the widely accepted format to read eBooks in any eBook reader.

Where To Get eBooks In ePub Format?
Though most of the eBook providers like Sony Store, Shortcovers, O’Reilly provide eBooks in ePub format yet if you want to search for most of them as per your ease then you can use Google Books. Remember to opt for the ‘public domain only’ option and you will surely get some book that fits your needs. As these are free so you can enjoy reading most of them without any restrictions. FeedBooks and Project Gutenberg are some more famous sources that have eBooks available in ePub format.

You can even download the ePub eBooks directly from your desktop if you use the perfect desktop application being offered by Sony. You won’t even have to owe Sony Reader to use this application. It has been very well customized to use Google Books to download eBooks in the format you want and directly save them on your desktop.

How To Create My Own ePub eBooks?

The most convienient option to create your own ePub files is to use Microsoft Word. Now how on earth can we use MS Word to create an open source file format? Well, use MS Word and save your document as RTF file. Later on you can use Amazon’s Stanza so as to covert the document into an ePub eBook. You can also use Adobe’s Buzzword to create your own eBooks in ePub format. Calibre is another exciting free tool to convert any kind of file into a ePub format. It is available for every platform like linux, Mac OS X, and Windows. Lastly, Sigil is the perfect tool to edit ePub files. It is a WYSIWYG tool worth trying and is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

Do remember to check the ePubCheck tool so as to confirm that your ePub file has been created without any unexpected errors corrupting the file.

Lastly, you can check out our article on ePub eBooks inside FireFox.

For those who haven’t been using Google Docs Adobe Buzzword will have plenty of exciting features and for those who have already been regularly using Google Docs for PDF work, Adobe Buzzword will have new look and feel which will surely help them feel a lot more comfortable while working online. Adobe Buzzword in the newly created Acrobat.com is the perfect online tool for those who plan to create their own eBooks in format that are compatible with most of the eBook readers like Amazon’s Kindle, Nook and Sony Reader.

EPub file format is the only file format which is supported by most of the eBook readers and Adobe Buzzword is perfect enough to directly export documents in EPUB format. You can go ahead to export your EPub file and then directly import it in your ebook reader. Kinda easy huh? And you get to see a lot more than the simplicity of Google Docs! One can even use Adobe Buzzword to convert your Open Office or Word Doc to the very famous EPub format for wider compatibility.

The newly created PDF documents will produce the fonts and styling as you actually want without messing up like most of the other PDF creators do. You can access the online documents from any part of the world, have anyone edit them from their computers, and keep track of all the changes made to your document so that you can revert back to any of them if the need be.

Some other exciting feature of Adobe Buzzword are:

You can add sticky notes or comments to your documents in different colors to make it look more descriptive and exciting.

You can decide the type of access that the reader should have. Like someone can be co-author while others can be just readers.

Show your real time status along with the document. More of a social networking type of feature.

Easy image editing as per needs.

Various possible lists like in your Microsoft Word.

Check out the new Adobe Buzzword before the buzz dies down.

When the sixth Potter book was released J.K. Rowling did not permit any of the books to be published in electronic form, not even during the peak of the e-book craze a few years ago. Neil Blair, a lawyer with Rowling’s literary agency, would only say that “this has not been an area that we have sought to license” and did not comment directly on whether pirated e-books, a common phenomena for Potter titles, were hurting sales.

“We monitor the Internet and take appropriate action,” Blair said.

And as the seventh, and most probably the last, Potter book is being sold there seems to be no sign of any legal electronic version coming out. So for those who love to read there books on there computers will have to depend on pirated books to enjoy Potter. Many unauthorized version of HP 7 were released on BitTorrent before the original release and soon after the release of the book officially many Potter fans were found to buy the book from book stores but ‘NOT’ read it. Instead, they went to the next scanning device and started running their OCR software on little Potter.

And in a recent breakthrough in Bangalore (India) police has seized hundreds of pirated covers of the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series, a city police official said on Monday.

With all this in the run I am afraid if J.K.Rowling’s decision to not let official Potter eBooks to be sold will actually somehow help the Potter piracy. Still, once again the Potter fans should be rest assured that they will have to rely on pirated eBooks of Potter if they want to read the book in there computers. No legal eBook for you Harry!

The latest book, the last may be, in the Potter series “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows” is available for download in bittorrent.

Not one but many torrents of the novel contain of photographed pages of the book thus making it little hard to read. But something is always better than nothing. Once again I wont publish the link to avoid piracy problems but just to inform the fans its easy to search for it.

Go get it, pirated! Another piracy news eats up lots of dollars of someone who deserved it. Still I am sure J.K.Rowling’s bank account wont be affected that badly with this!

No one can deny the fame which the “dream” world of Harry Potter has earned. Same is the reason why the latest launch of Harry Potter movie destroyed all records in its first week itself. J.K. Rowling, the brain behind Harry Potter, has also earned unexpected fame with the book series breaking all the records. Even the new book which is to be launched very soon has already been booked for over a million copies a lot before it comes up in book stores.

These are ‘not’ the only people who have earned so much fame. There is one more group which you call as “fans of Harry Potter”. So popular are J.K. Rowling’s stories, and the Web pages built around them, that a handful of online fans have become stars in their own right.

Arguably the biggest is Emerson Spartz, who was just 12 when he set up www.mugglenet.com. Today the site is visited up to 40 million times a month, making it one of the biggest Potter sites in the world and a viable commercial venture.

“I spent the entire summer on the road signing thousands of autographs, which is simply unheard of for a geeky kid who created a Web site,” he told Reuters by telephone from the United States, where he is a university student.

“Harry Potter has got to a point where it is so popular that even fans have fans,” the 20-year-old added.

Rowling has long recognized the power of the Internet.

Her own Web site, www.jkrowling.com, boasts up to seven million hits every day and Spartz and Anelli were invited in 2005 to hold a rare interview with her.

The author also publicly backed The Leaky Cauldron’s campaign to prevent spoilers appearing on the Internet ahead of the launch of “Deathly Hallows”, which will answer the question on ever Potter fan’s lips — which characters will die?

One hacker claims to have leaked key plot details on to the Internet after breaking into a computer at Rowling’s British publisher Bloomsbury.

Reuters has also seen online photographs purporting to be the last pages of book seven, which, if genuine, provide the answers to the biggest secrets of all.

Bruce Webster, one of the three authors contributing to the blog, has crafted a very enjoyable series of in-depth posts titled The Art of ‘Ware, a treatise on software development based on the principles laid out in Sun Tzu’s Art of War. He’s just made a PDF version available for offline reading and I highly recommend it.

A popular resource kit that is released with each new version of the Microsoft Windows operating system is available for Vista. I am wondering why they were so late for the launch.

The official Windows Vista(TM) Resource Kit (Pro – Resource Kit) walks corporate users through the deployment, configuration and management of the operating system. The book dedicates more than 1,500 pages to in-depth technical guidance on automating deployment, implementing security enhancements, and troubleshooting for Vista, which was released to corporate users in November.

Also included are tips for administering group policy, files and folders, and programs; a networking section that covers such topics as configuration of Windows networking, connecting to remote networks and IPv6 deployment; a management section covering disks and storage, and device management; and maintenance tips for health and performance monitoring, assisting remote users, updating and patching, and client protection.

There are sections on Internet Explorer 7, Windows Firewall, and Windows Defender. The book includes more than 150 scripts to help automate administrative tasks and tools; and utilities to help troubleshoot, manage, and configure Vista.

The book is a collaboration among Microsoft’s Windows Vista team and authors Mitch Tulloch, Tony Northrup, Jerry Honeycutt.

The retail price of Windows Vista Resource Kit is US$60, but a number of online retailers are selling it for $38.
