Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.

• Apple’s Board of Directors passed the below statement:

“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today.

Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.

His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.”

I am very, very sad to hear the news about Steve. He was a great man with incredible achievements and amazing brilliance. He always seemed to be able to say in very few words what you actually should have been thinking before you thought it. His focus on the user experience above all else has always been an inspiration to me. He was very kind to reach out to me as I became CEO of Google and spend time offering his advice and knowledge even though he was not at all well. From History - Larry & Sergey wanted to hire Steve as Google’s CEO during the early years of Google once they met him back then. They eventually hired Eric Schmidt as the CEO of Google.

• The president and CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, released the below statement:

Steve Jobs was a great friend as well as a trusted advisor. His legacy will extend far beyond the products he created or the businesses he built. It will be the millions of people he inspired, the lives he changed, and the culture he defined. Steve was such an “original,” with a thoroughly creative, imaginative mind that defined an era. Despite all he accomplished, it feels like he was just getting started. With his passing the world has lost a rare original, Disney has lost a member of our family, and I have lost a great friend. • Barack Obama and his family released a statement on White House Blog:

Michelle and I are saddened to learn of the passing of Steve Jobs. Steve was among the greatest of American innovators – brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it.

By building one of the planet’s most successful companies from his garage, he exemplified the spirit of American ingenuity. By making computers personal and putting the internet in our pockets, he made the information revolution not only accessible, but intuitive and fun. And by turning his talents to storytelling, he has brought joy to millions of children and grownups alike. Steve was fond of saying that he lived every day like it was his last. Right after the maintenance mode of App Store we heard about the speculations that this could well be the iPhone 4S launch and the images below might just be proving the same.

I am not sure how 9to5mac was able to pull up these images when other’s failed to but this might just be true.

Some reasons why this could be an iPhone 4S launch and not an iPhone 5 launch:

• The images we pushed above is one reason for starters.
• Apple’s Japanese website seems to have something related to iPhone 4S launch on 16th October which is like…on our heads!
• The theater for the press event has capacity of less than 100 which I am assuming is very small for iPhone 5 launch.

• Guys at Engadget were permitted to take their Android handsets inside the premises which could be weird for some but is smart as far as I think. Apple is pretty much open for marketing via any platforms!
• While checking in Apple seems to be using an “App” which checks in the media persons!

Decision to design similar to iPod touch instead of using glass is supposed that Apple seems to stop problems which are told widely damages from scratching, difficulties of painting white and weight of glass.

iPhone 5 will have Apple’s latest processor A5 and new antenna design which will supersede the external antenna design of iPhone 4 which was the reason for all the disputes that Apple faced.

The earliest date that qualifies for the rebate is February 16th 2011 and customers claiming the rebate will need to have their receipts with them to qualify for the rebate.

This is one rare goodwill gesture from Apple considering it hasn’t done anything similar for iPod or iPhone. Don’t waste your time. Quickly run to the store from where you bought the iPad and enjoy the $100 rebate.
