C’mon, Admit it: You have faced driver problems every now and then. Haven’t you? Every user who uses Windows Operating System is bound to face cases where the smooth running OS will crash without warnings. These crashes will affect your time table and you will surely lose some useful data.

Finally, after regaining yourself back mentally you will somehow get the operating system installed once again and then anyone will be quick to recognize that speakers of that machine aren’t responding plus neither your screen will look as good as it used to before the crash. After some googling you will understand that your vendor had installed lots of so-called device drivers after installing the O.S. and now you also need to install those drivers. But where do you get hold of these drivers?

I agree that some of you might ask as to why does your system needs drivers when you have already purchased a copy of Windows from Microsoft? Well, to explain the stuff in short, a driver (or device driver to be precise) acts as a bridge between your O.S. and your hardware. Now you know why your speakers weren’t responding. The bridge was missing!

Searching for the most suitable driver for your O.S. could be a mess considering the fact that not every driver will work with your machine. This is when you will feel the need to check the database of Driver Library.

My friend recently re-installed Windows on his HP desktop and then came running to me. He wanted the best drivers so that his speakers would say something! I did intense searching and this is when I stumbled on this list of multimedia drivers. This site has the through collection of drivers which will suit requirements of any machine.

The look of Driver Library is as simple as it can get. And to add to all this the authenticity of this driver database is backed up by renowned certification of Microsoft.

If Microsoft has eagerly given their Gold Certification to someone who has the collection of Windows Drivers then I guess me boasting about that website will be foolish.

I was able to find all the necessary drivers like the printer drivers so that my friend’s printer could finally start printing his project work. I will request all my readers to bookmark this site so that next time when their Windows crashes they won’t be running behind the so-called computer experts to find the required drivers. And why bookmark? The URL is so easy to learn!

www.Driver-Library.com

Easy?

One such keyboard shortcut is Shift and F10 keys when pressed together. This will act like right click with your mouse!

So next time even if your mouse gives up you will have access to right click menu.

You Can use a tool such as EasyBoot to create multi-boot CDs of different versions of Windows. Remember that it is illegal to do so unless those versions of Windows are illegal. Here are the steps to add Windows XP.

Create a folder named XPPR under C:\ easyboot \ disk1. Copy the files win51 and win51p from root directory of XP CD to C:\ easyboot \ disk1. Copy i386 folder to C:\ easyboot \ disk1 \ XPPR. Copy wxp.bat from C:\ easyboot \ resource to C:\ easyboot \ disk1 \ XPPR and run it. Copy w2ksect.bin from C:\ easyboot \ disk1 \ ezboot to a new file named xppr.bin.

Start EasyBoot. Select Tools > ReplaceText, browse to C:\ easyboot \ disk1 \ ezboot \ xppr.bin, and specify i386 as Text to Replace, XPPR as Replace To, and click Replace; one occurrence should be replaced. Repeat this for C:\ easyboot \ disk1 \ xppr \ setupldr.bin, replacing i386 by xppr; four occurrence should be replaced. Open C:\ easyboot \ disk1 \ xppr \ textsetup.sif in notepad, search for SetupSourcePath, and change SetupSourcePath = “\” to SetupSourcePath = “\XPPR”. Set the menu item’s command as run xppr.bin. Save the file.

Repeat these steps to add more versions of Windows, but make sure that you use different name for the folder XPPR and the file xppr.bin. After you’ve prepared the contents, save the compilation by clicking Save. Click Make ISO, select the name and location of the place to save the ISO image file, and click Make.

As time passes and your Windows installation grows old the computer processing time slows down and hard disk is filled up with files which we do not use. There are many installations in your hard disk which are not being used but still they hog the disk space. It is often a tough task to free up hard disk space and optimize the windows booting time.

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool which removes unused files from your system – allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it’s fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware!

CCleaner will clean your internet history, your not-in-use registry settings, third party applications and unused Windows temporary files.

CCleaner includes a complete backup option, so in the rare event you remove something that you later need – you will have a backup to restore from.

Even though RAM (Random Access Memory) chips are getting cheaper day by day, still the problem of extra usage of RAM in some systems is a daily issue. Many times users try to kill different process to free up RAM but that is just the temporary way out. FreeRAM XP Pro frees the extra memory usage thus reducing the RAM usage.

The “not-in-use” files are send to swap and called back whenever required. FreeRAM XP Pro’s AutoFree feature enables it to clear out no longer useful data from RAM without affecting RAM still used by programs and applications.

This application, as the name indicates, is FREE and very small in size. It wont be a burden on your computer and has a 5/5 editor rating on download.com. Here is what the Editor had to say at download.com:

Looking to free up some RAM on your running system? Then FreeRAM XP Pro is the program for you. Truly freeware, it gives you complete access to all its features at no cost. You can either have the program automatically optimize your system, or you can specify how much memory you’d like to free up. Advanced tray support, automatic memory monitoring and optimization, system-metric monitors, and real-time memory information are just a few of the features that make this program attractive and useful. You also can apply different sounds to different actions. It’s doubtful you’ll find a memory optimizer easier to use than FreeRAM XP, making it a smart pick for anyone who’s ever been frustrated by a poky PC.

You won’t get a better solution to ‘FREE’ your RAM for ‘FREE’ !

WinDirStat is a nifty little application which points out the files which are hogging your hard disk. It uses awesome graphics to explain to you which section of files are using what space. This app is compatible with every version of windows and is very small in size.

Sometimes the question which arises is why should one think of optimizing the hard disk space when now a days hard disks are available in sizes of tetra bytes. The reason is that more the number of files in hard disk more time the computer takes to get to the required file. Simple!

WinDirStat reads the whole directory tree once and then presents it in three useful views:

The directory list, which resembles the tree view of the Windows Explorer but is sorted by file/subtree size,

The treemap, which shows the whole contents of the directory tree straight away,

The extension list, which serves as a legend and shows statistics about the file types.

The various color codes indicate the space which is being used by a particular file type. All the coding is properly explained while the application runs as shown in the image above.

WinDerStat when combined with CCleaner can become a great pair which could be used to clear a lot of space from your hard disk thus increasing the processing speed too.
